Peru - The annual Diocese of Ogdensburg Past Regents Catholic Daughters of the Americas Memorial Mass and Luncheon was held Oct. 1 hosted by CDA Court St. Monica of Peru with Mass at St. Augustine’s Church. A list of deceased members, over this past year, from each of the 13 diocesan courts, was read by Judy Bombard and a candle was lit in memory of each by Patricia Lindsay. Before the closing of the Liturgy, a check for $2000 was presented to Father Seymour, acting for Bishop Terry LaValley, by State Regent, Penny Martin, of Willsboro, an annual donation from the NYS CDA in support of the Marie C. Curry Seminary Fund. A festive luncheon was prepared and served by Court St. Monica’s hospitality team at the Community Center in Peru. Guest speakers were Father Seymour and NYS Regent Penny Martin. At the luncheon, the winner of the 50/50 raffle was announced- Mrs. Helene Shepherd of Washingtonville, NY. Per the advice of the State Chaplain, and the agreement of those in attendance at the October meeting, the Chapter altered its schedule for 2012. Tentatively the fall meeting Will be held Aug.11 in Lyon Mountain, hosted by Court Our Lady of Snows #1548. Mass will be held at St. Bernard's Church and the luncheon will follow at the American Legion.
