Through the support of more than 10,400 households, the 2012 Bishop’s Fund Appeal has reached its goal of $1,250,000.
“Thanks be to God, what wonderful news,” said Bishop Terry R. LaValley. “I am so grateful to those who, even in difficult economic times, have so willing shared their blessings with the thousands of ‘Faces of Faith’ across our beautiful diocese.
“On behalf of those who have received emergency grants and those who have participated in the diocesan programs and ministries: Thank you so very much!” he said. “May God continue to bless you for your remarkable generosity.”
Valerie Mathews, diocesan director of the Bishop’s Fund, said, “This wonderful response will assist families facing crises, offer education to our future priests, deacons and lay leaders; and build foundations for life for our young people through the essential ministries and programs offered by the Diocese of Ogdensburg.”
As of June 12, 2013 the total received in cash and pledges was $1,252,682. Included in the total is $21,122.51 in outstanding pledges.
The Bishop’s Fund Office will continue to receive payments on the 2012 pledges until the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2013.
“If you have not had the opportunity to make a gift to this year’s Bishop’s Fund Appeal, please prayerfully consider supporting this worthy appeal,” Mrs. Mathews said.
