Matthew Kelly to lead retreat day at cathedral

Ogdensburg - Matthew Kelly, well known for his books Rediscovering Catholicism and Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic and CD/DVD presentations such as Seven Pillars of Catholic Spirituality will be presenting Living Every Day with Passion and Purpose at St. Mary's Cathedral Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1:30.

Passion and Purpose Live applies the genius of Catholicism to all aspects of life. The day will center on a practical exploration and understanding of faith, and all the ways it is meant to impact the way Catholics live from relationships to work, school and spirituality.

Marika Donders, diocesan director of evangelization, explains the purpose of the day:

“Have you ever wondered if God really does have a plan for your life? Or what Catholicism has to do with "real life" and what that means for our relationships and families? “Have your kids ever complained to you that Mass is boring and you don't know how to answer them? Do you want to draw closer to God and experience your faith more deeply?

“This presentation will challenge you to live your faith more fully and to deepen your understanding of God's plan for you,” Ms Donders said.

“Matthew Kelly is a fun and dynamic speaker who is sure to make you laugh while teaching and inspiring you to deepen your spiritual life,” she said.

“The presentation is for everyone over the age of twelve but especially appropriate for high school students, young adults and for those who wants to live their faith life with passion and purpose and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ,” she said.

Seating at the cathedral is limited and tickets are on now on sale. Tickets are $39 each which covers all the retreat materials and refreshments. All the proceeds go to the development of a Confirmation program by Matthew Kelly's Dynamic Catholic Institute which will be available to all parishes free of charge.
