Plattsburgh - Kathleen M. Gallagher, director of Pro-Life Activities for the New York State Catholic Conference, will make a presentation on “Catholic Guidance for End-of-Life Decision-Making” Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church.

Ms. Gallagher will present the New York State bishops’ statement “Now and at the Hour of Our Death,” explaining key Catholic moral principles in this area and how to apply those principles within the context of New York State laws and policies.

Her presentation will include how to complete a health care proxy.  The booklet from the Catholic Bishops of New York State entitled “Now and at the Hour of Our Death” will be given to each participant.  In it there is an a health care proxy form that complies with New York State law and the teachings of the Catholic faith.

The evening is being sponsored by St. Peter’s Nurses and its Pro-life Committee.  It is part of Respect Life Month activities and is open to all ages and encouraged for all.  For those who are able, a cover dish supper will be held prior from 5:30 until 6:30.
