Ogdensburg - Bishop Terry R. LaValley has invited pastors of the St. Lawrence Deanery to support St. Joseph’s Nursing Home through a second collection to be held in their parishes Nov. 1-2 

St. Joseph’s Home is the only Catholic healthcare facility remaining in operation in the Diocese of Ogdensburg. 
The collection will benefit St. Joseph’s Foundation, which in turn provides financial assistance annually to the nursing home, and helps to improve the quality of life for those who call St. Joseph’s their home.  

Support from St. Lawrence County parishioners brought over $14,000 in funds to the facility last year.

“We here at St. Joseph’s take pride in the caring, homelike, cheerful atmosphere where personal care is a priority,” said Sandra Porter, director of the St. Joseph’s Foundation.

“We and the residents welcome visitors at any time,” she said. “Come join the residents for Mass every day or participate in some of the daily or seasonal activities we provide. 

Ms. Porter listed other ways to support St. Joseph’s Home: through the Angel Program, by purchasing a brick for the Memorial Brick Wall, sponsoring the refurbishment of one of the lounges which still have the furniture from St. Joseph’s former location or donating to the Foundation in memory of a recently lost friend or relative.
