September 3, 2025 Bishop Terry R. LaValley recently announced that Father Alfred H. Fish, pastor in St. Regis Falls and Hopkinton since 2004, will retire effective Sept. 3. Father Fish served as administrator of the two parishes for a year before being named pastor. As part of the Living Stones Planning Process, St. Ann’s Church in St. Regis Falls and Church of the Holy Cross in Hopkinton will be grouped with St. Augustine’s Church in North Bangor and St. Mary’s Church in Brushton. Father Kris C. Lauzon will serve as pastor of the four churches. The new Mass times for the parish will be effective Sept. 3. Monday and Wednesday Masses will be at 9 a.m. in Brushton, Tuesday will be at 9 a.m. in North Bangor, Thursday and Friday will be at 8 a.m. in St. Regis Falls, Saturday’s vigil Mass will be in Brushton at 4 p.m. Sunday Masses will be at 8 a.m. in North Bangor, 9:45 a.m. in St. Regis Falls and 11:30 a.m. in Hopkinton. FATHER ALFRED H. FISH Father Fish has been assistant pastor in Ticonderoga, Sacred Heart in Massena and in Champlain. He was also administrator in Willsboro, Lyon Mountain and Olmstedville. In 1985, Father Fish was named pastor in Olmstedville until 1989, when he became pastor in West Leyden. FATHER KRIS C. LAUZON Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, and raised in Massena, he graduated from Canton College and worked for six years as a draftsman for Dynapower in Watertown before entering Wadhams Hall Seminary College. He later earned a theology degree from Christ the King Seminary before his ordination May 25, 1991, by Bishop Stanislaus J. Brzana. He was previously pastor of pastor the Catholic Community of Holy Name and St. Matthew, AuSable Forks and Black Brook, as well as the Catholic Community of Keeseville. He served as administrator in AuSable Forks prior to being named pastor of those churches. He has also served as pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Hogansburg, later having St. Mary’s of the Fort in Fort Covington and St. Joseph’s in Bombay added to that assignment. He held that role at St. John’s in Plattsburgh and St. Alphonsus and Holy Name parishes in Tupper Lake, in 2004. Before becoming a pastor, Father Lauzon served as parochial vicar at Our Lady of Victory in Plattsburgh, and St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg and in Carthage and Copenhagen. While in Ogdensburg he was also chaplain at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center. He also served as administrator in West Leyden. |
